Engage Your Child in Reading and Writing Success Today: Why It Matters More Than Ever

As a former primary school teacher with three years of classroom experience, I’ve seen firsthand how a child’s confidence can blossom when they begin to find their voice through reading and writing. Whether it’s the pride in spelling a tricky word correctly or the joy of reading a story aloud without stumbling—these moments matter. They’re the stepping stones to lifelong learning.

And yet, for many children, literacy can feel like a struggle. That’s where I come in.

I now work one-on-one with children, offering personalised tutoring sessions that not only boost reading and writing skills, but help each child feel capable, confident, and engaged. My sessions are fun, interactive, and always tailored to the individual—because every child learns differently, and every child deserves to be supported in a way that works for them.

Why Early Literacy Support is So Important

Reading and writing are more than school subjects. They’re the foundation for understanding the world, expressing ideas, and building independence. When children fall behind, it can impact their confidence—not just in English, but across the board.

Here’s why engaging your child now can make a real difference:

  • Confidence is key: When a child believes they can succeed, they’re more likely to try, persist, and enjoy learning. I create a space where they can ask questions, make mistakes, and celebrate progress.

  • 1-1 support makes it personal: Unlike in the classroom, where teachers are spread thin, tutoring gives us the chance to zoom in on what your child needs most—whether that’s phonics, spelling strategies, reading fluency, or creative writing skills.

  • Learning can (and should!) be fun: I bring energy and enthusiasm to every session, with games, storytelling, and activities designed to keep children engaged while they learn.

  • Strong literacy skills open doors: Whether it’s writing a story, understanding instructions, or exploring new topics, reading and writing underpin so much of what children do in school—and beyond.

What Makes My Tutoring Different?

I bring kindness, patience, and a sense of humour to every lesson. But more than that, I bring structure, experience, and a genuine love of teaching. I take the time to understand your child’s needs, interests, and learning style, so we can build skills and confidence together.

No pressure. No overwhelm. Just meaningful progress in a safe, supportive space.
