Safeguarding Policy
1. Our Commitment to Safeguarding
At Lucy's Literacy Club, we are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people. Every child has the right to learn in a safe and supportive environment. This policy outlines the steps we take to protect our students, particularly those under the age of 18.
2. Online Safety & Lesson Environment
All lessons are conducted on secure, trusted online platforms with password protection.
Parents and guardians are encouraged to be present or nearby during sessions.
No contact will be made with children outside of scheduled tutoring sessions
.All communication is professional and appropriate at all times.
3. Recording of Lessons
Lessons may be recorded for safeguarding and quality assurance purposes.
Recordings are stored securely and access is strictly limited to authorised personnel.
Recordings will not be shared publicly and will be retained only for as long as necessary, in line with safeguarding and data protection guidelines.
4. Parental Consent
For students under the age of 18, parental or guardian consent is required before tutoring sessions can take place.
Parents will be informed of the possibility of session recordings and must provide explicit consent for this.
5. Responding to Concerns
Any safeguarding concerns, disclosures, or signs of harm will be taken seriously.
Concerns will be documented and escalated promptly to the appropriate safeguarding authorities (such as the Local Authority Designated Officer or NSPCC) in line with national guidelines.
We will act in the best interests of the child at all times.
